How we use data
- Operate and secure the service — keep the catalog and APIs functional, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues.
- Improve quality and performance — aggregate analytics to understand features, relevance, and reliability.
- Communicate with you when you contact us directly.
- Comply with law — respond to lawful requests where applicable.
Legal basis (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland, our legal bases under GDPR are:
- Legitimate interests — securing the service, fraud and abuse prevention, aggregate analytics, providing a reliable catalog.
- Consent — where required (e.g. optional analytics cookies introduced in the future).
- Contract / pre-contract — responding to support requests you send.
- Legal obligation — retaining limited records to comply with law.
Open-source context
- Public contributions — issues, pull requests, discussions, and commit metadata submitted to our GitHub organization are public and governed by GitHub's terms and privacy practices.
- Third-party content — catalog entries may link to manifests, container images, or documentation hosted elsewhere; those sites have their own privacy practices.
- Self-hosted deployments — if you self-host MatrixHub, this policy does not apply; you are the controller of any data you collect.
Service providers
A small number of trusted providers help us run MatrixHub:
We do not sell personal information.
International transfers
Because MatrixHub is a global open-source project, traffic may be served from multiple regions. Data may be processed where our providers operate (primarily EU and USA). Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards. We minimize data, limit retention, and apply reasonable security measures.
Retention
- Diagnostic logs — rotated within weeks to a few months.
- Aggregate telemetry — retained up to 13 months in anonymized form.
- Support correspondence — kept only as long as needed to resolve your request.
- Catalog content — published manifests are persistent (open source).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email contact@ruslanmv.com and we will respond within a reasonable time, subject to applicable law and technical feasibility.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — network protections, access controls, encryption in transit (TLS), monitoring, and least-privilege provisioning. However, no system is perfectly secure. To report a security issue, please email contact@ruslanmv.com with details so we can investigate promptly.
Children
MatrixHub is a developer tool and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or legal requirements. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice on the site.
