At a glance
The short version: MatrixHub is a free, open-source catalog. Use it lawfully, do not abuse it, respect the content owners, and we provide it “as is” without warranty. The software itself is licensed under Apache License 2.0.
Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using matrixhub.io, the MatrixHub APIs, or any MatrixHub-branded service (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The service
MatrixHub is an open-source catalog of AI agents, tools, and MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers. We make the catalog searchable, expose it through public APIs, and offer related documentation. The catalog content is contributed by the open-source community and curated by maintainers.
License to use the site
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access and use the Service for personal, development, and lawful business purposes.
The MatrixHub source code is separately licensed under the Apache License 2.0. The Apache-2.0 license governs use of the software itself.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Abuse the APIs — excessive automated requests, denial-of-service attempts, or scraping that disrupts the Service.
- Reverse engineer — access controls, rate limiters, or any security mechanism we use.
- Submit illegal content — malware, infringing material, or content that violates applicable law or third-party rights.
- Misrepresent — publish manifests under a false identity or impersonate another developer or organization.
- Bypass moderation — circumvent removals or republish content that has been taken down.
- Use for harm — build or distribute agents/tools that facilitate clearly harmful or unlawful activity.
We may apply reasonable rate limits and may temporarily or permanently block clients that violate these rules.
Catalog content & submissions
- Ownership — you retain ownership of manifests, code, and documentation you submit. Submissions are public.
- Grant to MatrixHub — by submitting content, you grant us and Service users a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, index, mirror, and display the content as part of the catalog.
- Authority — you represent that you have the rights necessary to submit the content and that it does not infringe any third-party rights.
- Moderation — we may remove, archive, or refuse content that violates these Terms or that we judge unsafe, low-quality, or abusive, in our reasonable discretion.
- DMCA & takedowns — rights holders can request removal of allegedly infringing material by contacting us; we will respond promptly.
Intellectual property
“MatrixHub,” the MatrixHub logo, and the green diamond mark are project marks of the MatrixHub maintainers. All other product names, logos, and brands are property of their respective owners. Use of these names, logos, and brands does not imply endorsement.
Except as expressly granted in these Terms or the Apache-2.0 license, no rights are granted by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.
Third-party content & services
The catalog links to and indexes content hosted by third parties (e.g. GitHub repositories, manifests, container images, documentation). MatrixHub is not responsible for third-party content, and your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy practices.
Availability & changes
We strive for high availability but make no guarantee of uptime. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. Where reasonable, we will announce material changes in advance via our website or status page.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is”
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MatrixHub, its maintainers, and contributors disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including (without limitation) merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service or any catalog content will be accurate, complete, secure, error-free, or available without interruption. Catalog entries are provided for discovery only and have not been audited for security.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will MatrixHub, its maintainers, or its contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our aggregate liability for any claims relating to the Service will not exceed USD $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability; in those cases, the limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Indemnification
You will indemnify and hold harmless MatrixHub and its maintainers from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your submissions to the catalog, or your violation of these Terms.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason — including violation of these Terms. The sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, governing law) will survive.
Governing law & dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The courts located in Italy will have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect our intellectual property.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you retain the benefit of any mandatory provisions of your local consumer-protection law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be signaled by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, additional notice on the site. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance.
