Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2025-08-24
This Privacy Policy explains how Matrix Hub (the open-source project and accompanying website) processes limited personal data when you browse our site, view the public catalog, or interact with our APIs. Matrix Hub is open source and released under the Apache License 2.0. This policy covers privacy only and does not alter the project license.
Who we are & how to contact us
Questions or requests about your data? Email us at contact@ruslanmv.com.
What we collect
- Technical diagnostics: request/response metadata (request IDs, timestamps, user agent), coarse IP-derived region, and error logs for reliability and abuse prevention.
- Aggregate usage telemetry: counts of searches, catalog views, and install triggers. We avoid storing sensitive query contents where feasible.
- Cookies: strictly necessary cookies for routing, rate limiting, and session consistency. No marketing/advertising cookies.
- Contact information that you voluntarily provide when you email us or submit feedback (your email address and message content).
How we use data
- Operate and secure the service: keep the catalog and APIs functional, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
- Improve quality and performance: aggregate analytics to understand features, relevance, and reliability.
- Communicate with you when you contact us directly.
Open-source context
- Public contributions: issues, pull requests, discussions, and commit metadata you submit to our GitHub organization are public and governed by GitHub’s terms and privacy practices.
- Third‑party content: catalog entries may link to manifests, container images, or documentation hosted elsewhere; those sites have their own privacy practices.
Cookies & analytics
We use essential cookies only. If we introduce optional, privacy‑friendly analytics in the future, we will present a consent banner and update this page accordingly.
Service providers (processors)
We use a small number of trusted providers to run Matrix Hub:
- Vercel (hosting/build), Cloudflare (edge/CDN, security), and GitHub (source code and raw content hosting for manifests/README files).
- Error logging/diagnostics integrated into our platform/runtime.
We do not sell personal information.
International access
Because Matrix Hub is a global, open-source project, traffic may be served from multiple regions. Data may be processed where our providers operate. We aim to minimize data, limit retention, and apply reasonable safeguards.
Retention
We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Diagnostic logs typically rotate within weeks to a few months. Support correspondence is kept only as long as necessary to address your request.
Your choices & requests
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, subject to applicable law and technical feasibility. Please email contact@ruslanmv.com and we’ll do our best to help.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (network protections, access controls, monitoring) to protect data; however, no system is perfectly secure. If you suspect a security issue, please contact us immediately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or requirements. We will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
